The First Homologated 911
Right-hand Drive Porsche 911 T/R

The 1968 Porsche 911 T/R was the first homologated race version of the 911 available from the German sports car maker and of the 28 produced, only four were right-hand drive. The 911 T/R body was 52kg lighter than the 911 R, and carried a 100-litre fuel tank. It was also fitted with a 906 Carrera 6 engine that produced 210bhp.

This rare metallic silver 911 T/R was purchased by Paddy McNally in 1967, for the 1968 racing season. It won the 1968/69 Winter Springbok Series, and later appeared in other races including the Mugello Vestey 500km and Paris 1000km in 1969, as well as the 1970 Targa Florio and the 1071 Le Mans 24 Hours. In recent years, it has been featured at the Porsche Museum, where visitors can inspect this mint Porsche 911 T/R.

It is now being offered for sale. If you wish to bring this beauty home, hurry to Classic Driver and check it out before someone else does.
