Oldest Production Model Restored
1964 Lamborghini 350 GT

In March 1964, the automotive world witnessed the debut of a remarkable car. Automobili Lamborghini, in its inaugural year, introduced its first production car, the 350 GT, at the Geneva Motor Show. Pictured here is the 350 GT the second-ever chassis number — also making it the oldest existing production Lamborghini – returning to the streets of Geneva to commemorate its 60th anniversary.

The 350 GT was not merely an ordinary automobile. It emerged from the creative minds of designers and engineers who would later achieve renown in their respective fields. Giampaolo Dallara crafted the chassis, engineer Giotto Bizzarrini conceived the 3.5-litre V12 engine with four overhead camshafts initially for motorsport applications, and Paolo Stanzani adapted it for road use in the 350 GT. Featuring a sleek and timeless aluminium body designed and crafted by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, this pioneering model heralded the inception of Lamborghini’s iconic DNA.

Although the very first chassis number of the 350 GT is no longer around, the second one, which rolled out of the factory in August 1964 sporting a metallic grey exterior and a red interior, was meticulously restored and authenticated by Lamborghini Polo Storico before returning to Geneva.
