Wood Dome Diaphragms
JVC Wood Dome FW series

JVC’s wood dome diaphragm headphones have been highly rated for years, and the brand has just released a new series of Wood Dome high resolution in-ear buds. New technology has further reduced the thickness of the unit from the previous 80 μm of older models to now 50 μm. The top model of the series, HA-FW01, features a 11mm wood dome driver unit, so that the delicate mid and high frequencies are combined to reproduce a live music feel, while keeping the vocals and the low frequencies clear and audible. HA-FW01 also has a new quad metal harmoniser, which employs a stainless steel ring with an aluminium alloy rear cover in the front and back of the brass housing. The four different components have different acoustic characteristics, providing brilliant and detailed sound quality.

Other new features of the series include the wooden stabiliser, which controls the sound in the housing for a crisper outcome, and the acoustic purifier that can suppress unwanted internal housing vibration and result in evenly distributed, natural sound. All three models are made in Japan with quality materials, and use a L/R independent ground cable made from pure 4N oxygen-free copper. The HA-FW01 model also comes with a cloth woven cable. FW02 and FW03 are coupled with the new hairline finished cable for minimising dreaded entanglement and better durability.
