Salon Retromobile is a notable classic car event in Paris which has experienced phenomenal growth over the years and now ranks as one of the most important events for the world’s car collectors. Within this event, Artcurial Motorcars holds one of the biggest European classic car sales of the year, Rétromobile by Artcurial Motorcars. Their usual wide variety of choices attracts over 3,000 collectors every year; their next auction will take place on 10 February 2017.

The centre of attention for next year’s official auction will be the Hervé and Martine Ogliastro Collection of rare provenance automobiles. Hervé Ogliastro (along with his wife Martine) is a car enthusiast, collector and a descendant of the Vuitton dynasty who once organised the Salon Retromobile event. The Ogliastro Collection comprises eight automobiles, including a 1935 Bugatti 57 Atalante Decouvrable and a 1957 Osca 273S Spider. Other highlights of the sale include a 1948 Ferrari 166 Spyder Corsa Scaglietti and the ex- ‘La Môme Moineau’ 1939 Delahaye 135 MS. Considering Mr. Ogliastro’s unique personal history, the gentleman’s participation is a fitting and meaningful ‘comeback’ for him at Salon Retromobile.
