When the PS4 and XBOX One gaming consoles were launched at the end of 2013, the performance of driving games was brought to another new level. One of the first released, The Crew from Ubisoft, was based on an illegal street racing theme that let players experience the excitement of crazy underground racing all across the United States. Today Ubisoft is launching its latest expansion pack for the game, The Crew Calling All Units, for XBOX ONE, PS4 and Windows PC. Players will take to the roads in an all-new storyline as an elite cop, gaining access to a wide range of cop vehicles from exotic supercars to off-roaders and monster trucks. This puts you on the opposite side of the law for a change, but that shouldn’t make this open-world battle royale any less interesting.

Another much anticipated title is GT SPORT exclusively for PS4. The reality-emphasised Gran Turismo franchise has had no new release in three years, and this latest title, which was originally planned for launch in November 2016, has been postponed until some time next year. From the latest trailer just revealed on PSX 2016, we can see that the developers have fully utilised the graphical power of the new PS4 Pro to bring extremely-realistic textures of the next level, with superb details displayed in 4K mode (PS4 Pro exclusive), stunning visual effects from the use of HDR and wide colour gamut, and also the supporting of PSVR for an even more immersive virtual driving experience. It is definitely a must-have title for all car enthusiasts, providing the developers can stick to their word and deliver early next year!
