Nordic Restaurant Style
Wright Noma Auction

Since first opening in 2003, Noma in Copenhagen is a name on the bucket list of many gourmets, acquiring the “Best Restaurant in the World” title by Restaurant Magazine four times and two Michelin stars. As the restaurant has moved out of its first permanent location and is preparing to reopen on a farm early next year, founder and head chef René Redzepi has selected some of the furnishings, décor and tableware from the restaurant for an auction to be held by Wright.

The pieces range from dining tables and chairs, to sculptural installation and custom dinnerware and glassware. Produced by artists and designers from the Nordic regions and mostly using earthy materials such as wood, stone, leather, glass and ceramic, these items help shape the distinctive aesthetic of Noma. The sale features over 500 lots with starting prices ranging from US$ 100 to 20,000. Highlights include custom-made glassware by Nina Nørgaard, ceramics by father son duo Aage and Kasper Würtz, ‘CH46’ chair by Hans Wegner, dining chairs by J.L. Møller, and a 20-foot long bespoke table made by Københavns Møbelsnedkeri.

The Noma auction will be held in Chicago and will also be streamed live online on November 2nd at 8am North American Central Time. A complete listing of the lots can be viewed online.
