Two Tales In One Vehicle
La Squadra x Zagato AGTZ Twin Tail

Iconic Italian coachbuilder Zagato and Polish supercar dealer La Squadra have joined forces to introduce the AGTZ Twin Tail, an exceptional limited edition car that tells two tales through one vehicle, featuring removable rear bodywork and utilising modern technology and coachbuilding skills.

It’s essential to understand the story behind AGTZ Twin Tail’s inspiration – Chassis #1731 of the original Alpine A220. After failing to win at Le Mans in the 1960s, the A220’s designers ingeniously sliced its bodywork to create a 30 cm-shorter tail for Chassis #1731. This redesign shifted its focus to shorter circuits and rally stages, resulting in podium finishes that solidified its place in history.

Inspired by the A220, the AGTZ Twin Tail embodies the spirit of fearlessness and innovation. It seamlessly merges the designs of the original A220 longtail and shorttail, creating a truly unforgettable car. Based on the current Alpine A110, equipped with a mid-mounted 1.8-litre four-cylinder turbo engine producing a minimum of 250 hp, it ensures a thrilling performance worthy of its legendary predecessor. The dynamic design accentuated by its removable rear bodywork offers easy sensational transformation between the tailored elegant longtail and the muscular, punchy shorttail, with the longtail itself able to be used as a piece of exquisite automotive sculpture.

Limited to just 19 special bespoke examples with pricing starting at €650,000 before taxes, the GTZ Twin Tail will debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in May 2024.
