Mighty Calibre
Tudor Heritage Black Bay Chrono

Not long ago we introduced the Breitling Superocean Heritage II chronograph. Both the Breilting timepiece and the Tudor Heritage Black Bay Chrono are inspired by their vintage predecessors. They also share the same the same co-developed movement, the Breilting B20 and the Tudor MT5813.

Tudor launched the first in-house movement Calibre MT5602 for the Heritage Black Bay series two years ago. Following on from that success, Tudor is launching the new in-house Calibre MT5813, which is co-developed with Breilting and has been fitted in the new Heritage Black Bay Chrono. The new movement has a power reserve of 70 hour, a silicon balance spring and is built with a column wheel mechanism and a vertical clutch. It is COSC-certified and the quality is on par with chronographs crafted by high-end Swiss watchmakers.

Inspired by Tudor’s history and tradition, the new watch mirrors the original shape and proportions of the first Tudor diving watch. The crown originates from the “Big Crown” (Ref. 7924) released in 1958, which was water resistant to 200 metres (660 feet). Additionally, the unique and angular “snowflake” hands have been a brand signature since 1969, and are borrowed from the watches supplied to the French navy in the 1970s. The timepiece offers clear readability against the domed matt black dial.
