Carbon fibre on the wrist
Graham Chronofighter Superlight Carbon

As you are viewing an automotive portal, there is probably no need to introduce in details about the merits of carbon fibre. The material has been used in supercars for years because of its high strength-to-weight ratio. From McLaren F1 to the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 they are all products well known for their use of the lightweight material and performance. Now going back to timepieces, Graham has announced their third and last entry in the Superlight Carbon collection just in time for Baselworld 2016.

The focus of Chronofighter Superlight Carbon is clearly on its weightlessness. For a watch bearing a 47mm case it is incredible to keep the total weight of the watch under 100g. Four different forms of high-strength carbon processing have been used to create the Chronofighter Superlight Carbon. For example, the black case is made of carbon speckled composite which has a better performance in shock absorption. The signature start/stop trigger is made by specific machine processing of multi layers of carbon fabre to form a stiffer and more usable piece. The bezel, the dial and even the black buckle on the grey “Clous de Paris” rubber strap are made from carbon fibre. Limited to 50 pieces it is set to win some carbon fibre loving hearts.
