Unleashing Versatility
Land Rover x Bowler Defender Rally Series

Renowned for its formidable presence and exceptional off-road capabilities, the Land Rover Defender has long been revered for its adaptability, catering to both personal use and specialized units. In recent years, Land Rover, in collaboration with JLR Group’s safari and rally car division, Bowler, has introduced the annual Defender Rally Series Championship in the UK. This championship showcases the Defender’s prowess in conquering diverse terrain and challenging conditions. As the 2024 season commenced earlier this month with 16 driver and co-driver teams, the specially prepared Defender 90 rally car made its inaugural appearance.

Sporting a distinctive livery featuring a black motif and team-specific colours, each of these rally-ready Defenders is based on the P300 production models but is equipped with additional safety features, including race-specification seats, an FIA-approved roll cage, and fire extinguishers. Utilizing the potent 296-hp Ingenium petrol engine, eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox, and advanced All-Wheel Drive system found in standard models, the rally Defenders also benefit from mechanical enhancements such as a new ECU system, wiring harness, and Bowler Sport exhaust system. Moreover, they boast a bespoke suspension design.

Enhancements extend beyond safety and mechanics, encompassing details that augment both aesthetics and performance. These include a revamped front bumper, a Bowler front grille for enhanced airflow, a rear roof spoiler integrated with additional lighting, front and rear wing claddings, and robust Bowler 18-inch motorsport wheels outfitted with all-terrain BFGoodrich tyres, among other features.

Applications for the 2025 Defender Rally Series are now open. For enthusiasts who admire the aesthetics and specifications of the converted car but do not intend to participate in the championship, Bowler offers the option to purchase new or used rally Defenders.
