After its initial 2015 release, racing game Project Cars received plenty of international praise. As a response, developers Slightly Mad Studios quickly announced a crowdfunding project for a sequel. Two years later, Slightly Mad has released its latest batch of exciting gameplay footage from the new game, just in time for this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

This time around, there will be more than 170 licensed cars from the world’s most recognisable manufacturers, as well as new vehicle types such as Rallycross, IndyCars and Oval racers. More than 40 tracks, including Daytona, LeMans and Mazda Raceway are also included. Thanks to the LiveTrack 3.0 system, the game delivers changing dynamic surface conditions that impact vehicle performance, as well as track evolution. The PC version will support virtual reality, triple screens with 12K resolution, and 21:9 aspect ratio monitors. As with the original release, the video game utilises input from British racing driver Nicolas Hamilton among many others to ensure the accuracy of the action.

Project Cars 2 will be available on September 22 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
