The Great Disguise
Butcher Garage Escape

Butcher Garage has managed to turn a Vespa PX 150 to a rowdy, scrambler-styled motorbike. The Saint Petersburg-based workshop is famous for its extreme transformations, and for this project the team has partnered with German aftermarket specialist SIP Scootershop for some funky parts.

The name of the bike is taken from the 1963 film The Great Escape starring Steve McQueen. The overall design was influenced by the style of the 1960s and 1970s. A 1970s Husqvarna fuel tank was fitted on the Vespa chassis, while the seat was inspired by classic BSAs. In fact not much from the original Vespa has been left. A Pinasco tub and a 177cc Parmakit cylinder can now be found as well as a Parmakit water-cooling system. Ignition, clutch, driveshaft, crankshaft and exhaust have all been replaced with aftermarket parts for better performance, while SIP’s company colour palette of black, red and white have been laid over the top to seal the deal.
