Louis Vuitton unveils Hong Kong’s first Hard-Sided Pop-Up Store

In 1854, Louis Vuitton founded his House and designed a revolutionary trunk. With a poplar frame covered in waterproof canvas, this flat trunk was elegant, functional and lightweight. The French fashion house has now opened its first Hard-Sided Pop-Up store in Hong Kong, showcasing the art of trunk-making, which still to this day is fine-tuned to each individual’s specific requirements.

The Pop-Up store will display a variety of hard-sided trunks and cases for both men and women. Besides the iconic products such as the Wardrobe trunk and hard-sided suitcases, other special trunks – which have been created for the lifestyles of its customers – will also be exhibited in the space. In addition, visitors can also see the Petite Malle, perceived in the season’s animations. First launched in Fall-Winter 2014 by Nicolas Ghesquière, the Petite Malle has become one of the House’s most recognizable signature styles.

Meanwhile, a painter will be on hand at the venue to demonstrate the art of trunk painting and to highlight the customisation options available to customers.

The Hard-Sided Pop-Up will run through May 13, 2018 and open daily from 10am to 10pm.
