Land Rover has teamed up with LEGO to create a fun collaboration to celebrate its 75th anniversary. The LEGO Icons Classic Land Rover Defender 90 model set borrows the design of the original 1983 vehicle, and features a bunch of accessories for a tabletop off-road adventure.
The brick edition of Defender 90 is in classic sage green and consists of 2,336 pieces, measuring slightly over one foot long when completed. The details and options available for this faithful interpretation are truly delightful to car enthusiasts. For example, it can be built as either a left-hand or right-hand drive vehicle, and offers the choice of a diesel or a petrol engine and three different hood options.
Like many previous collaborative LEGO model cars, functional steering, opening doors, working suspension and hood all make the miniature Land Rover more realistic, not to mention the accurate interior details. The best thing is that the model is a two-in-one build that can be customised to the preferable version – either standard or full-blown off-road ready. The latter can be easily done with parts such as front bumper, fire extinguisher, roof rack, engine snorkel, jerry cans, toolbox, working winch, mudguards and traction plates, creating a look for crossing all terrains.
Priced at $239.99, the LEGO Icons Classic Land Rover Defender 90 set will be available in April at LEGO Stores and online.
