Today marks the Hong Kong debut of Aston Martin’s DB11, the most significant car in the marque’s storied history.

Striking and elegant, the new DB11’s iconic looks reveal the face and attitude of Aston Martin’s fearless new design philosophy. From the striking new grille, clamshell bonnet and innovative “Aeroblade” bodywork, the DB11 is a sensual thrill. That also goes for the satisfying sound of the new twin turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 engine, the most powerful DB production model in Aston Martin’s history. Making a brutal 600 hp and 700 Nm, and teamed with a paddle-shifted eight-speed automatic, the off-the-line thrust of the turbocharged engine is supremely addictive.

Beneath the surface, there is more innovation. Every pressing and extrusion of the DB11’s lightweight bonded-aluminium monocoque is brand-new as is the multilink rear suspension and electrically assisted power steering, a first for Aston. The DB11’s ingenious new AeroBlade aerodynamics system channels air through the bodywork, delivering the stability benefits of a wing without needing to disturb those beautiful lines. Altogether, these elements combine to make the DB11 impressively agile and seductively supple.

The impression is forceful, svelte, and sophisticated—everything you’ve come to expect from an Aston. But more significantly, the DB11’s interior now encompasses a fully digital instrument panel and a new tasteful infotainment touchpad on the centre console as well as an electric e-brake, a powered centre armrest, and improved access to the rear. Add to this gorgeous inset wood trim and elaborately layered surface treatments and the new DB11 also raises the bar for posh contemporary interiors.
