Pocket-Sized Nostalgia
Kodak Charmera Millennium Edition

When Kodak launched the original Charmera last year, it quickly found a following among retro-loving photographers and social media creators alike. Inspired by the 1987 Kodak Fling, the tiny digital camera embraced lo-fi photography with simple controls, nostalgic image quality, and plenty of charm.

Now the concept returns with a fresh twist. The new Kodak Charmera Millennium Edition leaves the 1980s behind in favour of the Y2K era, embracing the bold colours, glossy finishes, and optimistic futurism that defined the turn of the century. The result is a pocket-sized digital camera that feels as much like a collectable as it does a gadget.

The biggest appeal remains the blind box concept. Instead of choosing a design, buyers only discover which version they have after opening the box. There are seven editions in total, including six metallic finishes and a rare chrome-finished secret version with odds of just one in 48.

Despite measuring just 58 x 24.5 x 20 mm and weighing only 30 g, the Charmera Millennium Edition is capable of capturing both still images and video. A 1/4-inch CMOS sensor, a 35 mm F2.4 lens, a rechargeable battery, keyring and USB-C charging are all included, while images are stored on a Micro SD card that owners must source separately. The camera also features date stamps, four custom retro-futuristic frames and seven pixel-inspired filters that recreate the colourful, low-resolution aesthetic of the early digital era.

Designed for spontaneous snapshots, quirky videos and imperfect memories that feel refreshingly authentic, the Charmera embraces simplicity and nostalgia, complementing today’s smartphones by offering a completely different photographic experience.
