New interpretation of the classic
BMW 2002 Hommage concept

The latest BMW 2002 Hommage is an elegant creation to celebrate the German company’s 100th birthday and is inspired by the original 2002 turbo of 1973. Based on the classic M2 coupe, the car’s compact proportion is complimented with a long wheelbase and short overhangs for maximum dynamics and agility. The two single headlights, ducktail spoiler, prominent shark nose and kidney grille are all distinctive features from the series.

This unique car debuted globally in Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in May and demonstrated in the UK at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Matt paintwork is adopted on the upper tranche of roof, bonnet and boot lid to prevent the reflection of the sun’s rays. Between the two rear lights, there is a metal plaque with “2002 hommage” paired with the BMW logo. The iconic red, navy blue and sky blue BMW Motorsport livery and “turbo” lettering was originally located on the front apron. The latest appearance during last weekend’s FoS came with an eye-catching twist: the 2002 Hommage concept’s signature livery went extreme on the sides of the body as well as on the spoiler with enlarged “turbo” lettering. Visions of things to come? We hope so.
