Design studio from Netherlands, Studio Lorier, has recently designed their latest work named ‘City Plates’. As the name suggested, it is a series of porcelain plates themed around cities. But they are not using paintings, drawing or even photographs to represent the cities, instead they are plates with embossed texture, putting four landmarks and indicating features like rivers in each plate. And this tiny 3D-map of a specific city can serve as a storing place or a simple decoration to your wall, and among the functions, I am extremely attached to pouring soy sauce or other sauces onto the plate, watching it slowly occupying the concave area. To make the dining experience interesting should definitely be one of the ways to enjoy life.
