Team Ikuzawa has grown from the racing legacy of Japanese driver and team owner Tetsu Ikuzawa into a wider creative presence under his daughter, Mai. Its latest project reunites the team with TAG Heuer and Bamford Watch Department, following their first Carrera collaboration in 2023. The new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa brings the same mix of Japanese motorsport culture and Swiss watchmaking into a smaller, more classically proportioned design.

The colour palette of this limited-edition watch is clearly drawn from the racing team, with London-based Bamford bringing its familiar eye for personalisation to the project. At 39 mm across, the stainless-steel case feels noticeably different from the 42 mm watch produced for the earlier collaboration. Its polished and fine-brushed surfaces frame a white Clou de Paris dial with an attractive decorative texture. A black flange carries the 60-second scale, while red appears on the lacquered central chronograph hand and the 30-minute counter at three o’clock. The angled date window at six o’clock adds an unusual touch, complemented by rhodium-plated hands featuring white Super-LumiNova for maintaining visibility in the dark.

Beneath the sapphire caseback sits TAG Heuer’s automatic Calibre TH20-10. The in-house movement has a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour and provides an 80-hour power reserve. The watch also offers water resistance to 100 metres. A seven-row steel bracelet provides the most traditional appearance, although two additional straps are included for a more casual, motorsport-led character. Only 150 individually numbered examples will be produced, each presented inside a dedicated red toolbox.
