Earlier this month at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Pagani unveiled the Huayra 70 Derecho, the latest bespoke creation from its Grandi Complicazioni division. Built as the second of three exclusive Huayra 70 models celebrating founder Horacio Pagani’s 70th birthday, the one-off hypercar takes inspiration from one of nature’s most powerful weather phenomena.

Its name comes from the derecho, a rare storm system capable of producing intense straight-line winds over vast distances. Rather than simply borrowing the name, Pagani has translated the phenomenon into the car’s visual identity. Through its dramatic styling, the design elegantly conveys a sense of controlled power and relentless forward motion.

The exterior is finished in an exclusive combination of Pearl Orange and Inky Blue that still reveals the intricate fishbone weave of the exposed carbon fibre beneath. The deep blue extends across the lower body and visible monocoque, while the Pearl Orange finish on the upper body produces warm golden reflections in sunlight, highlighting the complex surfaces and handcrafted construction from every angle.

Bespoke, solid-milled aluminium components anodised in Glossy Titanium are integrated throughout the bodywork, providing subtle accents without disturbing the Huayra’s flowing form. The finish is echoed on a new set of custom titanium wheels created exclusively for the Huayra 70 series.

The same attention to detail continues throughout the cockpit, where Ceramic White leather is paired with Tricolore Blue upholstery and intricate contrast stitching inspired by bespoke tailoring. Pearl Orange highlights on the steering wheel’s 12 o’clock marker and the gear lever visually connect the cabin with the exterior.

The Huayra 70 Derecho is clearly the result of considered personalisation, and we look forward to seeing the final chapter in the one-off Huayra 70 trilogy.
