HYT Conical Tourbillon Infinity Sapphires

Established in 2012, the independent Swiss watch brand HYT has garnered acclaim for its patented mechanical-fluidic technology that ingeniously displays hours in a retrograde fashion. This distinctive feature forms the core of all HYT timepieces, yet it’s just a glimpse into the watchmaker’s ability to craft intricate horological marvels, exemplified by the Conical Tourbillon Infinity Sapphires.

Limited to just eight units, the Conical Tourbillon Infinity Sapphires has a theatrical presence, animated by sparkling gemstones and a groundbreaking conical tourbillon. This spectacle is enclosed within a 48mm case, crafted from 5N rose gold and black DLC titanium, crowned by a domed sapphire crystal, resulting in a watch with a 25.15mm thickness.

At the heart of the dial, the tourbillon takes centre stage. Designed by HYT’s master watchmaker, Eric Coudray, it offers a contemporary interpretation of Walter Prendel’s 1928 masterpiece. This conical tourbillon presents a spring balance inclined at 30° to the horizontal, an escapement wheel at 15°, and an anchor at 23°, completing a full clockwise rotation in just 30 seconds. But the watch’s charm doesn’t end there; three 2.5mm sparkling sapphires engage in an orbiting dance at varying speeds. The fuchsia, blue-grey, and yellow gemstones, each elegantly tracked by a counterweight, rotate at rates of 4, 5, and 6 revolutions per minute, culminating in a visually arresting display. Additionally, six smaller 1.5mm sapphires are delicately set in the tourbillon’s brackets.

The in-house 701-TC calibre — composed of 533 intricate components — beats with a frequency of 21,600 bph, ensuring a minimum power reserve of 40 hours. The signature fluidic hour module is finished in sleek black, while the sapphire caseback allows connoisseurs to admire the intricate movement. Rounding off the stunning design is the black rubber strap  with brown leather embossed strap decor and brown stitching.
