Getting All the Brakes
2016 Grand Prix Of Canada

The Overview IV

Valtteri Bottas finished completed a steady if a bit quiet one-stop strategy for third, completing the rostrum for Williams; its the team’s first podium in 2016.

Max Verstappen regained the respect he lost with his three crashes at Monaco by finishing fourth ahead of Rosberg. Raikkonen came home sixth after fighting the entire race within the pack. Ricciardo ended seventh, with Nico Hulkenberg, Carlos Sainz ninth after rising almost unseen from 20th on the grid in his Toro Rosso, and Sergio Perez completing the top ten.

In the end, Canada was the usual “winter test in summer” race, with track temperatures so cold the tires grained. This time, though there was no rain, no full safety car, nor high-speed accidents. Every place was gained through on-the-limit driving.

Now, on to the European Grand Prix in Baku, Azerbaijan in one week’s time.
