From Past To Future
BMW ‘Aurora’ Concept

The BMW R nineT holds an important role in the world of retro styled motorcycles, so when BMW Motorrad said in its annual report earlier this year that “(the) R nineT family is now complete” we naturally held hope for something bigger and better. But before that day arrives and the fate of the range becomes clear, we’ll shift our attention towards this aggressive concept penned by Istanbul-based designer Mehmet Doruk Erdem.

Commissioned by GB Motorbike from the same city, this R nineT concept is titled ‘Aurora’ and is an interpretation of a modern version of the 1,170 cc scrambler. The retro rider has undergone some dramatic changes, turning into a black and silver futuristic build, with the fuel tank and tail being the few main parts leftover from its original styling notes. Replacing the retro and round headlight was also another bold move that brings out another dimension of the R nineT. It’s not clear if the concept will be put into production, but one thing is certain – Erdem’s Instagram is filled with plenty of extraordinary concepts for your viewing pleasure.
