Tamburini Massimo T12 commences production

Four years after legendary Italian motorcycle designer Massimo Tamburini passed away, the last design he created is going into production. His son Andrea picked up the T12 Massimo project and developed it into a prototype two years ago, and the production version was finally unveiled at the Top Marques Motor Show in Monaco at the end of April.

One critic called Massimo Tamburini the “Michelangelo of motorbike design” and his previous works included Ducati 748 and MV Agusta F4. Powered by a BMW S1000RR engine tuned accordingly to the specs of Superbike World Championship, the T12 Massimo generates 230 hp. The dry weight of the bike is just 154 kg because of the lightweight parts including a carbon fibre frame, air box, the ventilation ducts and tank. Some of the bestMotoGP components in the market can also be found, such as front suspension, rear suspension and custom shock absorber from Öhlins, nd a brake system from Brembo.

This unique track bike with art-like craftsmanship is priced at US$ 980,000. Only 12 examples will be made.
