Moving Metals
“Sequential” by Antoine Dufilho

MB&F M.A.D.Gallery Geneva is now showcasing eight pieces of automotive art from French sculptor Antoine Dufilho under the title “Sequential”.

Dufilho was originally fascinated by the complex structures under the skin during his medical studies, and his architecture training offered him the skills and knowledge to take it further.

Celebrating its curves and shape, the Ferrari 250 GTO model was handmade in resin to create the sleek lines and finished in glossy automotive paint. The Bugatti Type 57S Atlantic and Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato have been given a dynamic look by alternating symmetries and asymmetries to generate a feeling of acceleration or deceleration from these metal plates.

The Jaguar E-Type was even more complicated. Formed in 2,250 handcrafted stainless steel rods with a diameter of 2 mm under its unique construction, the car appears to be moving if you rotate the rosewood base or just walk past it. Other vehicles in the exhibition include a Mercedes W196 Streamliner, an Auto Union Avus and more.
