Enzo’s Personal Choice
1962 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Coupe

In 1964, Ferrari officially launched the 330 GT 2+2, but two years prior to the release, Enzo Ferrari started driving a prototype example of this very model.

There was a need for 2+2 models in the early 1960. Ferrari invited Tom Tjaarda of Pininfarina to create the beautiful bodywork for the 330 GT 2+2, a model that replaced the 330 America. This particular example was an early prototype featured in the marketing material for Brussels Motor Show brochure, and was used as a personal car by Enzo.

It won’t be easy to find out whether Enzo saw the 330 GT 2+2 as one of his favourite cars, or he drove it for generating interest and publicity to the car. Either way, he was frequently seen sitting on the behind the steering wheel for some months, travelling with important figures as his passengers. In June 1964, it was sold new to Luigi Chinetti Motors, which is the first Ferrari dealer in the United States. The current owner has spent a hefty amount of money and time to maintain the condition of the car, including the bodywork and its V12 engine. Check out the photos and description on Daniel & Schmitt Co. website if you are interested in this special example.
