McLaren MSO 'Racing Through the Ages' collection

McLaren MSO — the brand’s special operations unit — has unveiled a six-car collection titled ‘Racing Through the Ages’. Commissioned by McLaren Beverly Hills, the collection features three distinct themes (Muriwai, Papaya Spark and Sarthe Grey), each commemorating a significant period in McLaren’s racing heritage, represented by the 570S Coupe and Spider.

All six cars receive a special MSO designed, dealer-fitted fixed rear wing and a quad-colour GT4 racing stripe running the length of the body, as well as the MSO Defined Black Pack, 10-spoke lightweight forged wheels in gloss black and a titanium exhaust. For the interior, the same stripe can be found on the seat’s backrests and a plate that reads ‘1 of 6 – Racing Through the Ages’.

The Muriwai White paint with a subtle blue tone takes inspiration from the white/blue waves at Muriwai Beach in New Zealand where Bruce McLaren completed his first race. Bruce’s emblem, the “Speedy Kiwi” in orange also appears on the rear wing’s endplates. The two cars in Papaya Spark theme pay tribute the company’s many victories in the 1960s and 1970s – most notably through the CanAm era of racing. Rounding up the trio, the Sarthe Grey shade signifies McLaren’s victory at none other than the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995, with the legendary Mclaren F1 GTR taking 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th place.
