Celebrating Star Wars Day
LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter

May 4th is a significant date for Star Wars fans, with events and activations taking place around the globe in order to celebrate George Lucas’s sprawling universe. This year, LEGO will once again feel the force with the release of the Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series X-wing Starfighter building set.

The upcoming set is based on the iconic T-65 X-wing Starfighter, which made its debut in the original Star Wars film in 1977. This is actually not the first time LEGO has created a rendition of this particular spacecraft, but with 1,949 pieces, it’s easily the most detailed. Measuring 55 cm long, 44 cm wide, and 27 cm tall, the X-wing Starfighter features an updated wing, engine, and cockpit interior design, including stunning Incom 4L4 fusil thrust engines, and Taim & Bak KX9 laser cannons. The dial on top of the X-wing allows for wing adjustment for cruise and attack modes.

No LEGO building set can be complete without a Minifigure. Included in the new X-wing Starfighter set is the Luke Skywalker Minifigure with his lightsaber in Rebel pilot uniform, as well as an R2-D2 droid figure that can be placed in the socket behind the cockpit. The set also comes with a display stand with a plaque detailing the X-wing’s technical data and space for Luke Skywalker Minifigure.

Priced at US$ 239.99, the X-wing Starfighter (75355) set will be available on May 1st for LEGO VIPs and on May 4th for the public at LEGO stores and online.
