Appreciate The Heritage
Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre, Shizuoka

Any journey to Japan should always include a stop at Mt. Fuji. If you happen to be visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site, try to drop by the newly opened Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture.

Designed by renowned Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, the centre consists of 3,400 metres covering the exhibition tower, west tower and north tower. The exterior of the exhibition tower features a wooden structure in an inverted cone shape, which gives a reflection of the mountain in the water. The visitor’s journey is also nicely planned. A 193-metre spiral slope goes from ground floor to the top floor of the exhibition tower. With images of the mountain on the walls the journey mimics the experience of climbing Mt. Fuji. Visitors can enjoy unobstructed panoramic view of Mt. Fuji on the outdoor terrace and the top floor, and find out more about the mountain and the culture surrounding it from various exhibition halls and 4K video theatre with 265-inch screen.
