Apparatus Link Porcelain
A new communion between the new and the old.

New York’s furniture studio Apparatus was founded by duo Gabriel Hendifar and Jeremy Anderson, where each of their handmade furniture shows a sense of ancient decadent but remains completely relatable to the idea of modernity. Innovative designs often have to worry about being out of trend, however this series of brass chandeliers presents a new communion between the new and the old.

Gabriel was engaged in the fashion industry before, so when I caught a glimpse of the chained jewelries that he wore, it was not far fetched to say that the Link Porcelain series could have been inspired by his own aesthetic preferences with accessories. The three brass chandeliers are all connected to a circular tube on top, where a woven brass cord runs through them into a series of white clay rings which are fused together like a chain. One loop in the chain contains a gap, creating this shaky vision that is actually strong enough to be securely held up. This sense of brokenness is just a part of their intricately designed detail. Produced in hands with Brooklyn pottery artisans Alice Goldsmith, customers can customize the length of the chain.

These lightings are like the essential and classic apparels within your wardrobe, with their uniqueness allowing them to always stay in trend, distinctively shedding light onto the home interiors, making it a meticulously polished craft.
