Vision Beyond the Road
Ferrari Hypersail

Previewed last year as an ambitious concept, the Ferrari Hypersail has now been revealed in full, with official images finally showcasing its complete silhouette.

Hypersail is a 100-foot ocean-racing monohull prototype engineered to fly above the water on foils. Its distinctive configuration relies on three points of contact, combining a canting keel-linked foil with lateral foils and a rudder to maintain stability at speed. The aim is clear: to translate the same relentless pursuit of efficiency seen in endurance racing into a marine environment, where wind, water and motion define performance.

The design, developed by Ferrari Design Studio under Flavio Manzoni alongside naval architect Guillaume Verdier and led by racing sailor Giovanni Soldini, is entirely dictated by function. From the streamlined deck to the sculpted coachroof, every surface is shaped by aerodynamic and hydrodynamic demands, while the silhouette draws subtle parallels with Ferrari hypercars such as the Monza SP1 and SP2, as well as the Le Mans-winning 499P.

The yacht carries a striking livery defined by Giallo Fly, a historic Ferrari shade of yellow that is less commonly seen than the marque’s signature red, set against exposed carbon fibre in a bespoke Grigio Hypersail finish. The contrast highlights both heritage and material innovation, echoing the colour separation first seen on the Ferrari 512 BB. Integrated solar panels are seamlessly built into the deck and hull sides, contributing to the yacht’s energy system alongside wind and kinetic recovery, while subtle design cues also reference models such as LaFerrari and the F80.

As a one-off prototype, Hypersail is not destined for production or sale, but it is expected to take to the ocean, potentially before the end of the year.
