At round four of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Laguna Seca Raceway, Porsche delivered one of the weekend’s most striking visuals, with the Porsche Penske Motorsport entries appearing in a historic Apple Computer-inspired livery.
Applied to the two LMDh-spec Porsche 963 hybrid prototypes, the collaboration celebrates two milestones in 2026: 75 years of Porsche Motorsport and 50 years of Apple. The location is also particularly fitting, as Laguna Seca Raceway sits around a 90-minute drive from Apple’s Cupertino headquarters.
The livery draws direct inspiration from the 1980 Porsche 935 K3 run by Dick Barbour Racing, where the Apple name first appeared on a Porsche competing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Reinterpreted for the modern 963, the look remains instantly recognisable thanks to the unmistakable rainbow spectrum stripes, sweeping cleanly over the nose, cockpit, and rear bodywork. The Apple logo and the original “Apple Computer” name also feature prominently, contrasting with the sharp, aerodynamic forms of modern racing machinery.
On track, the No. 6 car was shared by Kévin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor, while the sister No. 7 entry featured Julien Andlauer and Felipe Nasr. This pairing of proven endurance racers reflects Porsche’s continued strength in the GTP category, with both crews playing a key role in the team’s championship campaign following early-season success at Daytona and Sebring.
