Genesis has wasted little time establishing itself as a serious player in international motorsport. Following the debut of the GMR-001 Hypercar in this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship, the Korean luxury brand used the 24 Hours of Le Mans to reveal another possible direction for its racing future: the Genesis Magma GT3 Concept.
Unveiled during a press conference overlooking the final corners of the Circuit de la Sarthe, the concept offers a glimpse of how Genesis Magma Racing could expand beyond top-level prototype competition. While no production plans or racing programme have been confirmed, the project reflects the growing importance of GT3 racing and the role it could play in strengthening the connection between Genesis road cars and the brand’s motorsport ambitions.
Unlike many GT3 racers, which are developed from existing road-going sports cars, the Genesis Magma GT3 Concept has been conceived as an independent study. Developed in accordance with GT3 technical regulations, it explores how motorsport-led architecture, aerodynamics and engineering principles could influence future high-performance Genesis models.
The concept’s design proudly showcases its intended purpose, with widened tracks, an aggressive front splitter, enlarged cooling ducts and a distinctive door-mounted fin contributing to both a purposeful stance and aerodynamic efficiency. At the rear, a substantial fixed wing and race-focused diffuser leave little doubt about its competition-focused intent. Genesis has also placed considerable emphasis on thermal management, recognising the demands placed on modern GT race cars during long-distance competition.
Developed in collaboration with Hyundai Motorsport, the Magma GT3 Concept remains firmly in the exploratory stage, with its architecture, components and future development pathways still under evaluation. For now, it serves as a fascinating indication of where Genesis Magma Racing could head next.
