In the Spirit of Endurance
Kimera K-39

Unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the Kimera K39 feels less like a conventional supercar and more like a manifesto on wheels. The latest creation from Kimera Automobili channels the spirit of endurance racing prototypes from the late 1970s and 1980s, while pushing the company into an entirely new era of performance and design.

Echoes of the legendary Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo and other iconic race cars run throughout the silhouette, from the dramatically widened rear arches to the elongated tail section and aggressive aerodynamic surfaces. Turbofan wheel covers, sculpted side profiles and an enormous rear wing push the motorsport references even further, yet the K39 avoids feeling stuck in the past. Every surface exists with aerodynamic intent, contributing to a machine where engineering and design feel inseparable.

Beneath the carbon-fibre bodywork sits a bespoke twin-turbocharged V8 developed specifically for the project by Koenigsegg. Producing 1,000 hp and 1,200 Nm of torque while revving to 8,250 rpm, the powertrain combines immense output with razor-sharp response. It is Swedish engineering precision meeting Italian mechanical theatre, and the partnership feels genuinely compelling.

Alongside the road-focused K39 Stradale, Kimera also revealed the K39 Pikes Peak, a more extreme variant limited to just 10 examples. Featuring dedicated aerodynamic packages and track-oriented components, including a far more prominent rear wing, it has been engineered specifically for the demands of uphill competition.

Awarded the Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the K39 immediately established itself not only as one of the event’s most dramatic unveilings, but also as a statement about what analogue-inspired performance cars can still become.
