The Non-melting Ice Lollipop
Bompas & Parr

Famous food design studio Bompas & Parr has continued its very creative and fun approach, and just launched the world’s first non-melting ice lollipop, which can stay in its shape for around one hour in room temperature of 24 degrees. The studio mentioned that they has thought of global warming when they are in the design process, and people would craved for chilled food when the temperature is increasing every year. So they are inspired by inventor Geoffrey Pyke who has invented a composite material during the Second World War named ‘Pykrete’, which is combined by wood pulp, sawdust and water. For this edible version, the ingredients has changed to fruit fibres to fight against heat. If you are interested, go to the exhibition at British Museum of Food on the 22nd of August to taste them!
