Designed and manufactured by RAESR (Rice Advanced Engineering Systems & Research), a high-end automotive design and technology startup based in Southern California, the Tachyon Speed is an electric hypercar developed from the ground up for the ultimate in road and track performance.

The Tachyon Speed has been in the works since the summer of 2012. It uses six direct drive electric motors producing a combined 1250 hp, which enables it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than three seconds, before reaching to 120 mph in seven seconds, and has a top speed of more than 240 mph. Thanks to its carbon fibre construction, the Tachyon Speed weighs as little as 1338 kg and has an aerodynamic body with a drag coefficient of 0.39.

Meanwhile, RAESR says the Tachyon Speed can cover more than 150 miles on a single charge, sufficient to handle real city traffic conditions. Exact details on production and pricing of the Tachyon Speed remain undisclosed.
