A 1966 Mini Cooper Once Owned by Ringo Starr Is Being Auctioned in December

A 1966 Mini Cooper once owned by Beatles drummer Ringo Starr is going on auction during London’s ‘The Bond Street Sale’ event curated by Bonhams. The car is expected to fetch up to £120,000.

The Austin Mini Cooper ‘S’ Sports Saloon was purchased by Beatles manager Brian Epstein in May 1966 and given to Ringo Starr on 15th June 1967. In December 1968, Starr sold the Mini which then virtually disappeared for nearly nine years, until it was purchased by the current owner’s father in 1977. Since then, the ex-Starr Mini has been kept in the family for over 40 years and went on displayed at several Beatles exhibitions, including the 1984 ‘Beatle City’ exhibition in Liverpool.

Finished in two-tone Rolls-Royce Regal Red/silver-grey, this fabulous piece of Beatles-related motoring history includes sundry restoration invoices, a V5 Registration Certificate, and the original logbook signed by both Brian Epstein and Ringo Starr.

“The Bond Street Sale” auction will be held on December 2.
