The Iceman is staying
Kimi Raikkonen remains at Ferrari for 2018 F1 season

Scuderia Ferrari has renewed its contract with Kimi Raikkonen, meaning the Finnish driver will once again race for the Italian team in the 2018 Formula One season.

The Iceman is one of the most gifted drivers of his generation and the current 2017 F1 season is his fifteenth. Raikkonen won the 2007 World Drivers’ Championship with Ferrari, he then briefly left Formula 1 in 2010 before coming back with Lotus and then returning to Ferrari in 2014.

Raikkonen currently sits in fifth position in the 2017 World Drivers’ Championship, 86 points behind championship leader and fellow Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel. So far Raikkonen himself has not had a victory in the 70 races since rejoining Ferrari, but there is still hope in the second half of the season starting this weekend.

Sebastian Vettel is also on the last season of his current contract with Ferrari and is expected to have it renewed.
