Monday Motorbikes M1

As e-transportation becomes more widely accepted, we are starting to see more and more interesting designs, and Monday Motorbikes’ debut project M1 surely is one of them. Based in California, the startup has created an e-bike that is styled like a motorbike from the 60s and 70s, bringing the best of both worlds together.

The M1 is inspired by Cafe Racer style motorbikes, but it is much more minimalistic and lightweight without an engine. The crossover drive features a motor drive and independent pedal, meaning when the lithium-ion quick-change battery with a 65 km range is running out, you can either swap it with a new one or start pedalling to your destination. The M1 features full front and rear suspension, regenerative disc brakes and all the modern necessities such as GPS, Bluetooth and cloud connectivity. It does not have any gears or clutch and can be ridden as a bike by anyone without a license, at least locally in California. It is also extremely low maintenance; check the tyre pressures and tighten the chain every now and then, and that’s about it.
