Dyson has launched the Dyson Airblade 9kJ, its fastest and most energy efficient HEPA-filtered hand dryer to date. Featuring a completely new and unique design and the latest technology, Airblade 9kJ is able to help people dry their hands in just 10 seconds, making it an environmental friendly alternative to using paper towels.

With a development period of three years and over 700 prototypes made, Airblade 9kJ is quieter, and use up to 53% less energy than previous Airblade models. The hand dryers is powered by the fourth generation motor that spins at a speed of 75,000 times a minute. The curved blade design creates 388mph high velocity unheated air around user’s hand for drying, while the HEPA filter captures 99.95% of bacteria-sized particles from the air. Underneath the durable stainless steel body lies a “Time of Flight Ranging” sensor that detects the hand in 0.25 seconds and making the whole process more efficient. The new hand dryer has two power modes. In Max mode, which suits busy washrooms like those in shopping malls, it only takes 10 seconds for people to dry their hands using 10.7 kJ energy per dry. Even in the Eco mode that uses 9.1kJ energy per dry, the process just takes slightly longer at 12 seconds.
