It’s a Hoverboard-Robot
The Segway Loomo

As usual, there is a lot going on at this year’s CES gadget show. With tech companies rushing to show their latest innovative developments to the public, New Hampshire-based Segway has introduced the consumer edition of its security NIMBO robot, called “Loomo”, which will be available in early 2018.

According to the company, Loomo is a smart machine that transforms between a mini personal transporter and an intelligent robot, meaning it will autonomously follow you around wherever you go. It runs on an Android system and comes with an Intel RealSense camera that enables depth-sensing, face recognition and person tracking, so the robot can identify its owners and help them with their daily chores, while also serving as a surveillance camera and taking pictures for you.

Its built-in microphone array allows users to send voice commands to the robot from anywhere in the room. Thanks to its advanced artificial intelligence system, it doesn’t just learn the user’s important habits, but also helps you to carry your bag while shopping, and even tells jokes on the way home. With its self-balancing base that can take up to a 100KG (200lbs) payload, you can even ride it as a hoverboard.
