Sometimes, in this culture of instant digital gratification and endless selfies, we get so wrapped up in our own individual worlds, that we forget how small we really are in the grand scheme of things.

Photographer Peter Lillian has used his latest work ‘The Insignificance, The Importance’ to illustrate these thoughts and ideas. Through his lens, the individual is placed at the centre of the photograph, and the ratio serves to dwarf the subject within the environment.

If everyone see not only themselves, but the world around them, we’d all be better off.
