Floating Leaves Of MOEBE

“The world is complex enough already.”

Danish firm MOEBE’s primary goal in design is to keep things simple. One of its works, “Floating Leaves”, attempts to change our perception of plants and home decoration, using a unique printing technique to represent different forms of leaves printed on transparent film, showing the intricate pattern of each leaf. Placed inside its wooden frame, you could easily believe this greenery was floating freely in your home.

The designers, who are fans of the Japanese aesthetic concept “Wabi-Sabi”, think that “Floating Leaves” not only represents frozen time, but also expresses the process of “decay”, and records the traces of the plants in various conditions. “Floating Leaves” satisfies the desire to keep something unchanged for the long term.
