React Faster and Lighter
Nike Epic React Flyknit

Nike has introduced the first running shoe that employs its latest cushioning technology ‘Nike React’ – the Epic React Flyknit. It offers more cushion from the impact of each stride, giving runners the energy return needed to stay fresh late in a run, while feel light underfoot and also be able to withstand wear and tear of impact and elements run after run.

The one-piece Nike React foam consists of no carrier, cement or glue, which helps to further reduce the overall weight of the shoe. Its visually complex pattern varies in depth, where deeper parts indicate areas of more cushioning and shallower portions produce more firmness, delivering cushioning and support in the specific spots needed during a run. When tested in the Nike Sports Research Lab against other running foams, it showed that Nike React foam reins superior in energy return. The foam alone delivers 13 percent greater energy return than Nike’s latest generation of Nike Lunarlon foam.

Meanwhile, thanks to the one-piece Nike Flyknit bootie (which takes cues from the Nike Flyknit Racer) that was precision-engineered for support, flexibility and breathability in the spots where runners need it. It’s minimal and close to the foot but still supportive.

The Epic React Flyknit will be available on February 22 at Nike.com and select retailers.
