Gundam x Scuderia AlphaTauri for Las Vegas Grand Prix

The Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, set to take place this weekend as a night event, has been generating considerable excitement since its initial announcement, reportedly drawing new fans to the sport. Earlier this month, Daniel Ricciardo made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and the just-concluded Netflix Cup featured F1 drivers teaming up with professional golfers for a golf tournament. On the team front, Scuderia AlphaTauri has teamed up with Bandai to bring Gundam to the grid.

During the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Gundam decals featuring the RX-78-2 GUNDAM and XVX-016 GUNDAM Aerial will adorn the headrests of Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo’s AT04 race cars. Additionally, nearly ten-foot-tall Gundam statues will be showcased around the team’s facilities. Several new materials have been developed for this collaboration, including RX-78-2 and Yuki Tsunoda artwork inspired by AlphaTauri, along with a promotional video featuring Yuki Tsunoda donning a Gundam-inspired racing suit.

Perhaps the most eye-catching collaborative item is the unique Perfect-Grade Unleashed model of the Mobile Suit RX-78-2 Gundam. This model has been custom-designed to showcase AlphaTauri decals and colours, along with Tsunoda’s race number 22. Unfortunately, it’s a one-off display model and will not be available for sale. For those attending the race weekend, be sure to explore the two Gundam pop-up stores around the Las Vegas Strip Circuit area to enhance your Gundam model collection.
