McLaren has surprised the world with the first teaser image and a short clip showcasing a mysterious new model. The image focuses on the tail of the car with the caption “A new McLaren is coming. But have we forgotten something?” The video clip does not show much more either, but offers the roaring sound of the car and a riddle-like tagline “The edge is calling”.

Judging from the taillight in the image it bears some similarity to the taillight of the McLaren 570S. The new car could also be a long tail model from the Sports Series the automaker once mentioned. Whatever it will be called, the carbonfibre diffuser, sharp wheel arches and aerodynamic fin hint at the aggressiveness of the new model. It is also worth noting that the exhaust is not shown in the image and could well be placed in the centre in a similar fashion to the 675LT. There isn’t much solid info to be gained from the teaser, so we will just have to wait for the next batch of info from McLaren.
