IWC officially launched the IWC Racing Team at Goodwood Members' Meeting

IWC officially launched the IWC Racing Team at the 76th Goodwood Members’ Meeting, becoming the first luxury watch brand to compete in classic car races with its own team and car. The Swiss watchmaker has been the official Timing Partner of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting since 2015.

The IWC team will compete in selected classic car races with its Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing”, which was manufactured by Daimler-Benz between 1954 and 1957 as a road-ready version of the 300 SL race car. It dates back to the same time as when IWC’s watchmakers built the first Ingenieur.

This iconic sports car will be driven alternately by F1 driver David Coulthard, Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, Jochen Mass, Maro Engel, and Carmen Jordá.

Meanwhile, the watchmaker also launched the Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition at the annual Members Meeting. Powered by the IWC-manufactured 69380 caliber, this sporty and elegant chronograph in a classic column-wheel design features a pawl-winding system and a 46-hour power reserve. Its case with a diameter of 44mm is made of titanium and has crown protection. The lower part of the cage is inspired by a brake disk and imprinted with “76”, commemorating this year’s edition of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting.
