Most Luxurious Of Them All
Top 5 luxury Mercedes-Benz as told by the automaker

You don’t often see automakers ranking their own best cars, which could be likened to asking parents to name their favourite child. Mercedes-Benz hasn’t shied away, though. It has a YouTube series called “Best of Benz” that lists their best picks by categories.

For the latest instalment, Mercedes has selected its top 5 luxury cars from the entire catalogue. Beating out all the rest, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR “Uhlenhaut Coupé”, deserves the accolade. The hardtop version of the 300 SLR was produced in 1955 for the 1956 season and had a top speed of 290 km/h. It was never used for racing though, because Daimler-Benz stopped all racing activities after the 1955 season. Instead, it served as Rudolf Uhlenhaut’s, head of testing, as a company car. With only two units made, it was never available for sale.
