Moon As Mirror
Museum of the Moon

The Moon has always been a ‘cultural mirror’ which reflects different beliefs and religions.  Each one of us can perceive and interpret this  beautiful and mysterious object differently. The ‘Museum of the Moon’ designed by Luke Jerram is an art installation where the Moon is placed in churches, above the lake or inside gardens around the globe, so that we have a change to take a close look at it. This installation piece allows us to see the moon on an angel that has never been seen before. The size of the  moon has an approximate scale of 1:500,000 created based on details image by NASA on the moon surface. Maybe this way, when we gaze at it,  we can find peace within ourselves, detached ourselves from hectic life in the city and at the same time being reminded of how small we are under the nature.
