Let the ride be
John Lennon's 1956 Austin Princess

The world’s greatest collector car auctions, Barrett-Jackson, is taking place in Arizona right now and not winding down until Sunday. As always, the auction house has gathered tons of collectible classic cars, but one stands out in particular: John Lennon’s 1956 Austin Princess.

Lennon purchased this Austin Princess in 1971, and used it heavily in his documentary film “Imagine”. After filming was completed, the cabin of this beauty was modified to feature two rows of airline seats, making it a cosier space for the Beatle and his family. The 4-litre inline 6-cylinder engine is backed up by a 4-speed manual transmission, and produces 125hp in total. If you are lucky enough to bring the Austin home this weekend, then you will also be bringing home the original registration document, signed by Lennon himself.

Regardless of what ever price the British machine sells for on the weekend, there’s little doubt that this car is and always will be the most desirable and expensive Austin Princess the world will ever know.
